En 1994, un groupe de jeunes et talentueux musiciens cubains se sont réunis avec un objectif commun : sauver le classique et quelque peu oublié « Son Cubano ». Ainsi, sous la direction d’Ernesto Reyes « Palma » naissent les Jóvenes Clásicos del Son, avec le format et le style d’un septuor de musique traditionnelle, composé de : contrebasse, guitare, tres, congas, bongos, percussions mineures et voix. Dans leur répertoire figurent les genres les plus connus de la musique cubaine, tels que : le son, le changüí, le nengón, la rumba, le boléro, la guaracha, entre autres. Le succès ne se fait pas attendre, ils enregistrent leur premier album : No Pueden Parar, avec lequel ils reçoivent le prix du meilleur groupe de l’année (1997) à Cuba. Ce prix ouvre les portes de tous les événements musicaux les plus importants à l’intérieur et en dehors de Cuba.

La force d’interprétation qui les caractérise sur scène redonne au son cubain la fraîcheur et l’authenticité qui ont fait de ce rythme le favori parmi le large spectre des rythmes de danse de l’île, c’est comme cela qu’ils font danser des milliers de personnes dans les festivals de musiques latines et événements musicaux les plus renommés du monde. Ils ont partagé la scène avec des personnalités renommées de la musique cubaine et de la scène internationale telles que : Oscar de León, el Canario, Rubén Blades, Luther Vandross, Harry Belafonte, Natale Cole, Compay Segundo, Buena Vista Social Club, Van Van, Chucho Valdés, Wynton Marsalis. , Stephanie Mills, Babyface, Cachaito et Vocal Sampling entre autres.

This award opens the doors to all the most important musical events inside and outside the country.
