Angelica Lopez, Colombian singer songwriter strongly influenced by Colombian Atlantic Coast folk music (champeta, vallenato, cumbia, fandango) has such charisma and energy that she is regarded as one of the best ambassadors of Columbian music and urban–folk in the world. Awarded in 2018 at the LUKAS (Latin UK Awards) ceremony as the Best Vocalist of the year, she added another award to her already-long list of accomplishments. Her energetic performances have graced stages at the WOMAD Festival, the Royal Albert Hall and Shepherds Bush Empire. She was chosen to represent Columbia at the International Festival of World Music (Diaspora) in London, where she now lives.

Her latest album Madremonte in collaboration with Boris Caicedo (Yuri Buenaventura’s maestro) and with the prestigious group “Herencia de Timbiqui” amongst others, had a great success as soon as it got released. Angelica Lopez is not only generous and energetic on stage as this album is part of a bigger project : an organization that she chairs. Madremonte Indígena, is a non-profit organization that works to contribute to the well-being of indigenous peoples and communities, strengthening their social and economic development process, respecting their culture and the exercise of their rights.

She is both available singing her own tracks accompanied by her musicians, or under the « De Costa a Costa » a project in which Nancy Murillo and Boris Caicedo (Yuri Buenaventura’s maestro) take part. At her concerts you can appreciate a gentle yet powerful fusion of Afro-Colombian rhythms and Pop, Rock and Urban music influences that creates her very unique signature genre.

Grande ambassadrice de la musique colombienne et urbaine/folk dans le monde, elle a enflammé les prestigieuses scènes du WOMAD Festival, du Royal Albert Hall et du Shepherds Bush Empire, avec son groupe Papayera. Son talent, son charisme et sa discipline lui ont permis d’ajouter à sa liste de récompenses le LUKAS Award (Latin UK Awards) de la meilleure chanteuse de l’année 2018 et a confirmé son talent au monde entier.

Considérée comme l’une des meilleures artistes féminines de Colombie, elle a été choisie pour représenter son pays au festival International de la Musique World (Diaspora) à Londres, où elle vit désormais. Son nouvel album Madremonte réalisé en collaboration avec Boris Caicedo (le chef d’orchestre de Yuri Buenaventura), et avec la participation prestigieuse du groupe « Herencia de Timbiqui », entre autres, a connu un grand succès dès sa sortie. Angelica Lopez n’est pas uniquement généreuse et énergique sur scène, en effet, cet album fait partie d’un plus grand projet qu’elle dirige. L’association Madremonte Indígena dont elle est la présidente apporte sa contribution au bien-être des peuples et communautés indigènes en renforçant leur développement social et économique tout en respectant leur culture et leur légitimité à agir comme bon leur semble.

Elle se produit en ce moment dans deux formations différentes: seule avec son groupe pour défendre ses titres, mais aussi aux côtés de Nancy Murillo et Boris Caicedo dans le cadre du projet « De Costa a Costa ». Sa musique est une fusion entre ses racines colombiennes, les musiques, rythmes et instruments traditionnels Afro-Colombiennes ainsi que les styles pop, rock et musique urbaine rendant ainsi sa musique unique en son genre.

Angelica Lopez, cantautora fuertemente influenciada por la música folclórica de Colombia y el Atlántico (Champeta, Vallenato, Cumbia) tiene mucho carisma y energía la cual es considerada una de las mejores embajadoras de la música colombiana y del folklore urbano en el mundo. Sus enérgeticas actuaciones han agraciado los escenarios del Festival WOMAD, El Royal Albert Hall y El Shepherds Bush Empire. Fue elegida para representar a Columbia en el Festival Internacional de la Música Mundial (Diáspora) en Londres, donde ahora vive.

Recientemente lanzó un nuevo álbum «Madremonte» en colaboración con Boris Caicedo (director de orquesta de Yuri Buenaventura) y con el prestigioso grupo « Herencia de Timbiqui », entre otros.

Ella puede cantar sus propios temas acompañados por sus músicos, o en el marco del proyecto «De Costa a Costa», en el que participan Nancy Murillo y Boris Caicedo (director de orquesta de Yuri Buenaventura).
