C’est officiel, le groupe Village People donnera un concert gratuit au Barrière Enghien Jazz Festival le 1er juillet 2023 à 20h30 sur la scène flottante du lac d’Enghien-les-Bains !
Créé sur mesure pour la ville d’Enghien-Les-Bains par le groupe Barrière en juin 2000, le Barrière Enghien Jazz Festival rend hommage au gospel, au blues et au jazz sont à l’origine de la majorité des genres musicaux actuels. Il est conçu pour s’ouvrir à tous ces genres musicaux et aux multiples courants qui en sont issus en proposant une programmation qui reflète ce brassage des influences. Il favorise la rencontre entre les têtes d’affiches légendaires et les talents émergents et tend un pont entre les générations de public en prônant l’accessibilité à la musique pour plus grand nombre grâce aux concerts gratuits qui sont proposés en plein-air.
Connu pour son hit « YMCA », Village People a vendu plus de 100 millions de disques dans le monde. Ce groupe des années 70 est connu internationalement et a reçu de nombreuses récompenses depuis ses débuts notamment un American Music Award du meilleur groupe disco en 1979.
En 2020, « YMCA » a été inscrite au registre national des enregistrements de la Bibliothèque du Congrès américain. L’année suivante, la chanson a été intronisée au Grammy Hall of Fame. Le groupe continue de se produire dans le monde entier et est plus populaire que jamais.

It’s official, Village People will perform at the Barrière Enghien Jazz Festival on July 1st, 2023 at 8.30pm on the floating main stage of the festival !
Created specifically for the city of Enghien-Les-Bains by the group Barrière in june 2000, the Barrière Enghien Jazz Festival was designed to pay homage to gospel, blues and jazz music that are at the origin of the majority of the current main music genres. The festival’s artistic direction is to represent these musical genres and the many others that stem from them. The line up reflects this mix of influences as much as possible. It also promotes diversity between the legendary headliners and the emerging talents that allows to build a bridge between the many generations of audiences by making music accessible to as many people as possible with their free outdoor concerts.
Known for their hit single « YMCA », Village People has sold more than 100 million records in the world. This 1970s music group is world widely recognized and has received numerous awards since its carrer debut such as an American Music Award for Best Disco Group in 1979.
In 2020, « YMCA » was listed in the American Library of Congress National Recording Registry. The following year, the song was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. The group is still performing throughout the world and is more popular than ever.
